Michael Tirabassi, MD, FACS, FAAP is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics with Baystate Health Children’s Hospital and Tufts University School of Medicine. He graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Biology, Cum laude with highest thesis honors and UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, Association for Academic Surgery, SAGES and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Tirabassi is a member of both the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and the Institutional Biosafety Committee for Baystate Health. He has been involved in research since his undergrad and his current project is Single Incision Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery with a Glove Access Technique v. Standard Multiport Laparoscopic Appendectomy in Children: A Retrospective Study was accepted for presentation at the New England Surgical Society 97th Annual Meeting in 2016.
