4th Annual Scholarship Fund Raffle a Success!

NEBAALAS held the 4th Annual Raffle to Support the NEBAALAS Scholarship Fund at our Summer Outing on June 29, 2009. Due to the strong support of our vendor members, we had a record number of prizes (42) this year. And, we had another successful raffle, raising $3,175 for the Scholarship Fund!!! Since the start of the raffle in 2006, the raffle has raised over $12,000 in support of scholarships. All of the winners were ecstatic with the prizes and the raffle was a fun event during the boat cruise. The list of prize winners is posted on the NEBAALAS website.

The Scholarship Fund provides funding for educational opportunities for our members including the William S. Webster Educational Scholarship, the NEBAALAS National AALAS Meeting Scholarship Award, and the NEBAALAS National AALAS Leadership Academy Scholarship Award. The William S. Webster Educational Scholarship provides scholarship award(s) of up to $1000 per year. This scholarship funding is typically used assist in travel, lodging, and registration for the scholarship recipient to attend a regional meeting (e.g., District 1; Quad Meeting). The NEBAALAS National AALAS Meeting Scholarship Award provides support to attend the National AALAS meeting in the amount of up to $2000. And, the NEBAALAS National AALAS Leadership Academy Scholarship Award provides support to attend the Leadership Academy at the National AALAS meeting, as well as, the meeting itself. The recipient of this award is selected by the NEBAALAS Board and is seen as a future leader of NEBAALAS and/or AALAS.
