Fostering an Animal Hero

Homes for Animal Heroes is a foster-based program, meaning we do not have a physical facility to temporarily house dogs prior to permanent rehoming. Quality foster homes are the cornerstone of successful rehoming, introducing dogs to a daily routine and helping them acclimate to life after their involvement in biomedical research.

As a foster volunteer, you will play a key role in matching foster dogs to the best possible forever home. You will work directly with the local Homes for Animal Heroes Regional Coordinator to ensure the health, safety and well-being of the foster dog to help rehome the dog permanently. All necessary veterinary care will be provided by Homes for Animal Heroes through the foster period. Any expenses incurred by the foster volunteer may be tax-deductible.
